CSR Wednesday

What is CSR Wednesday?

CSR Wednesday is a free networking event hosted by CSR Asia for people who work in the CSR/sustainable business/green issues/NGO/Government/Media area or other people who are interested in CSR(Corporate social responsibility) in Beijing. Each time we invite different speakers from NGOs, international organizations, companies and media to talk about the latest CSR issues and their experiences in implementing CSR.

CSR Asia has this event running in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malasia and China. Initially launched in Beijing, the event has attracted many interests of different parties. Looking forward, in order to better communicate CSR in China, we are planning to launch the event in Guangzhou and Shanghai soon.

CSR Wednesday in Beijing

Sponsored by Inwent, the event kicked off in March 2009 with a big success in Beijing. About 70 people attended the first event and joined the discussion. The attendees are mostly from NGOs and companies, PR and media, government and embassy, as well as students and other people who show deep interest in CSR. The number of attendees usually ranges from 35-75.

Language of this event is Mandarin Chinese. The event runs from 5pm-8pm. The first 30 minutes consist of registration and networking. At the beginning of the event, CSR Asia invites venue sponsor to welcome the crowd and introduce his/her organization to the audience. One or more speakers from a specific field related to CSR will present a 30-minutes talking from 5:30pm, followed by a 45-minute Q&A session. After the Q&A section ends, participants are encouraged to network among themselves for contacts and they can stay until 8pm.
